On June 20, 2026, Governor Newsom issued a State of Emergency Proclamation for the Palos Warehouse Fire in the City of Los Angeles. A large fire broke out at a cold storage warehouse in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. Firefighters had a tough time because of dangerous materials like ammonia, batteries, solar panels, and huge amounts of rotting food, which made thick smoke and kept the fire going. The danger was so serious that the governor declared an emergency and called for extra help to control the fire. As of this date, Liberty Dental Plan (Liberty) has not been impacted by this incident. The Plan does not expect to have any issues with our regular day to day operations. We will continue to be available to members. This includes after hours and on the weekend. We are sharing our availability to potentially impacted enrollees through this press release on our website.
